Holy Baptism
Holy Baptism is regeneration in Christ and admission to new life in his Church. The Episcopal Church understands that baptism confers full membership in the Church, including participation in Holy Communion. Though baptism is an offering and celebration of the individual, it is supremely an event of the community. There is no such thing as a private baptism; candidates are sponsored by parents and godparents—or in the case of an adult, presented by a beloved friend or family member—and are surrounded and affirmed by the congregation. Accordingly, all baptisms take place during public worship.
We offer the sacrament of Holy Baptism to our current congregation members and their immediate family. So...what does that mean for you? It means that if you have been attending Church of the Epiphany for at least three months and are actively involved in giving of your time, talent, and treasure, then you or your family member would be eligible for baptism at Church of the Epiphany.
