Matthew Flora

Choir Director

Matt is native of a small town in southwestern Ohio (New Madison). He comes from a musical family where his mother was his vocal instructor K-12 and his father was his instrumental instructor K-12. He attended The Ohio State University before transferring to Northern Arizona University to complete his Bachelor's in Music Education (choral emphasis) and his Master's in Educational Leadership..

Matt taught as a high school and junior high school choral instructor for fifteen years prior to leaving the classroom for his current role as a middle school assistant principal. He treasures the beauty of the liturgy, the intentionality of the BCP and Lectionary, and lives by Matthew 22: 37-40 "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."

Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, Elizabeth, and their son, Samuel, as well as reading, listening to music, and following his teams (The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, and Cincinnati Bengals).
